About The Act

This indie-rock band comes as a compact 3-piece lineup. The band is led by Adam on guitar and vocals, with Terri on bass and backing vocals and Jay on drums and backing vocals. Terri and Jay are self-taught musical enthusiasts and Adam has fine-tuned his skills at the British Institute of Modern Music in both guitar and vocals. Drummer Jay is also a member of the Libertines spin-off band The Jackals. If you like your indie music you might recognise the name!

The band has played at Bush Hall, Islington O2, Shepherd’s Bush Empire; have played with Supergrass, Travis, Frank Turner, Eagles of Death Metal; and have even sat down and written with Jess Glynne! They’ve got an extensive repertoire of over 100 songs covering largely indie, alternative, rock and Britrock with a sprinkling of pop songs across the decades.

Once you’ve booked the band you can count on excellent and fast communication, as well as having full control over what songs the band plays on your special night. The band will make sure they’re 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your wedding. They’ll also bring their best party stories for your guests to chat about between the sets, including letting your guests guess which of the band members is in an Aerosmith tribute and which band member did a car journey in a VW Polo to Mongolia and back to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society! The band brings a full PA, lighting rig and their beautiful smiles, with plenty of charm, fun, and laughter with them wherever they go.

The Flares were absolutely brilliant and really did contribute in a big way to our special day, including absolutely nailing Wonderwall for our first dance! They created a great vibe and read the room perfectly to gauge what tunes to play. There was something for every generation too – exactly what you want to get the dance floor in full swing. What really won us over though was what a great bunch of people they were, so much so they even played for almost an hour longer than we’d paid for. What more can you ask for?! If you’re getting married, book this band now while you can, they’re 5 star! – Anna & Graeme, Kent, Wedding, December 2018

Thanks so much for all your help, you’ve made it a really smooth process. The band were absolutely brilliant – one of the highlights of our wedding. Really professional, sounded great and kept everybody dancing. The first dance was really well done too. Please pass on our thanks to them – we really loved having them there.  – Zoe & Sam, Wedding, Kent, 2018

The Flares performed at our wedding and were absolutely brilliant! Great communication beforehand where all queries were responded to promptly which was very helpful when planning such an event. They turned up on time and couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. We chose a selection of songs from their playlist and they used this to gauge an idea of our taste and then tailored a set that they knew we’d like. Which we did! From the first song to the last, everyone was up and dancing, and a great night was had by all! We thoroughly recommend this band.Keith, Wedding, East Sussex, 2016

Loved having The Flares at our wedding. They have a great repertoire, we were contacted by them beforehand so we could let them know any songs we wanted or didn’t want playing. Music was great and the atmosphere was brilliant.Sean, Wedding, Hertfordshire, 2019

The Flares were outstanding and professional, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again. I’d seen them at a friend’s party and was so impressed I hired them for my own birthday party. A few weeks beforehand the band contacted me to go through the plan for the day and what shape music should take. Apart from a couple of personal requests I let them determine the playlist, trusting they were experts. I was very impressed by the setlist they picked, going across the decades and working well for my crowd. On the day they were super-friendly and efficient, getting set up quick and manning the mic to help steer the evening. They checked in to see if everything was OK halfway, if the levels needed adjusting etc so I couldn’t fault their professionalism. I provided them with a few drinks on the day, made sure they had a plate of buffet each, plus a breakout room for them to chill out. An excellent band that I have no qualms in recommending for a fun party or function. Gary, Birthday party, Essex, 2019

Highly recommend The Flares, compliments from all the guests and the dance floor wasn’t empty all night. From the first song to the last our guests partied the night away. Very professional and a nice bunch of lads who interacted well with the guests.Michaela, Wedding, London, 2019

The Flares performed a great range of classic covers, appreciated by everyone who attended our office Christmas party. Would highly recommend for any kind of celebration. Many thanks for helping to make our party memorable!Jessica, Private Party, Oxfordshire, 2018

Can’t recommend The Flares highly enough! They played at our wedding and blew the guests away! Very accommodating to every requirement and went above and beyond to ensure our day went exactly how we wanted it to. Communication up to and during was great, the playlist was tailored to the exact list that we wanted and all the guests couldn’t stop saying how amazing the band was! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great wedding band!Charlie, Wedding, Hertfordshire, 2017
